We have had two of these. A two to three year old can use it, but it takes a 4 year old or higher to place enough spin on it to launch it to the ceiling. But it does function and is entertaining. The rotor blades (when the manage is pulled) will launch the helicopter off the handle and it will fly upward -- with a minimal auto rotation. It is created of soft foam and will not mar furnishings or the walls or ceilings -- a massive plus. It will, of course, knock glass ware or such off shelves mainly because it almost certainly weighs 6-ten oz. and the rotor spins (but is soft adequate that it is not a threat to tiny fingers). On each of ours they did not appear to use sufficient glue to preserve it together and right after very a bit of use and lots of crash landings the landing gear and the tail "rotor" (which is fixed) required to be glued back on with rubber cement. But over all, I would strongly recommend this for kid powered and indoor enjoyable. It is perfect as an indoor toy, outside its relatively brief flight time (less than ten seconds) tends to make it a bit underwhelming outside.
I got this as a gift, and was well received! With a kid's strength, it does not go especially high and is secure for indoor use. With an adult's strength, this can go 30+ foot in the air and land who knows where due to the fact it is so light can can catch wind fairly nicely! We'll see how it hold up more than time, but as it really is not that costly, expectations are modest.
